Still is a Private golfing community but having a public pro shop sale, so I stopped in. Sometimes just taking a course tour without playing, you see layout and conditions that you know how it will play.

Knowing that this course was the host of the 2014 / 2015 Michigan Open, I kinda knew what to expect during this "Visual" viewing. This Links style layout was designed by Ron Garl and at 7,142 yds / 74.5 /137 it will challenge your ability to work the ball into positions where you avoid all of the visual distractions, that keep you from scoring. There are houses on the course that do take away from the beauty of the hole, but it is a golfing community so that's excepted.

Every hole has some forced carry varying from 130yds - 200yds into sculptured wandering fairways protected by sand/water/trees on both sides and the same goes for the greens. Knowing the landing areas from your tee box will greatly help with alignment to your target. Angulation in fairways carries into the hard fast greens making every shot a placement to avoid high scores.

The Links holes are 1-12 and then you enter the tree lined woods area 13-17 that are visibility tight, tee to green.

My granddaughter Madison, played here for High School golf and said, "There's sand/water and trouble that comes into play on every shot if you miss the fairway". She learned more about sand shots that day than any course she ever played.

I would guess that pricing would be-be $70 - $90 to play here and if you don't have your "A" game, get ready for some high scores. This is one course I'll talk to my son about trying to play next year and we'll see how the old man handles the course pressure.
